AWOLNATION rocks as Sunday night's co-headliner, closing out Keloha's first festival year on the Power 104 Island Stage.
Led by frontman Aaron Bruno, AWOLNATION (named for Aaron’s high school nickname Awol), is an electronic rock band from Los Angeles. The story goes that in high school Aaron found it easier to leave without saying goodbye to people, thus the name “awol.”
Formed in 2009 and signed to Red Bull Records, the band is rounded out by Christopher Thorn, Hayden Scott, David Amezcua, and Kenny Carkeet. Known for hits like “Sail”; a Billboard top 10 that has been widely covered and used in various television spots, “Not Your Fault” and most recently “Kill Your Heroes”, it’s no wonder AWOLNATION has been given the freedom to write and record the music they want. In fact, Aaron writes most/all his own music but confides in close friends and confidants for input and inspiration.
AWOLNATION dropped their debut album in March of 20111, and it still has a place on the Billboard 200. This could be contributed to the bands vigorous touring, and loyal fan base. On tour all summer, AWOLNATION will play for fans across the globe; hitting Europe, the U.S., and Canada. This brings them right to our “island getaway” as the Sunday night co-headliners on the Power 104 Island Stage.
