KELOHA finishes its first year on many high notes!
KELOHA brings the heat to Kelowna!
I can honestly say that over the past weekend, I said the word WOW too much, but wow really sums up KELOHA’s inaugural festival year. From the artists rocking our stages, to the vendors creating atmosphere, and the Live Art Mural Wall! Did you see that? Everything was a harmony of music and arts, which played into the oasis that was KELOHA.
Walking over Harmony Bridge the mood was immediately set as ladies sporting grass skirts gave our guests a big aloha from KELOHA, with bright festive lei’s. As guests moved through the festival they were greeted by a bumping Lakeside Lounge, a sand castle filled Monkey Beach, and promenade filled with art themed activities and vendors. As guests walked towards the Island where acts such as The Sheepdogs, The Joy Formidable, and Tokyo Police Club rocked the stage, they were treated to on-site radio personalities, and a crowd of eager concert goers.
Every moment of the festival felt relaxed and incredibly positive. In fact that’s mainly the feedback that was received across the board. Vendors enjoyed themselves, local businesses were happy to help, and the artists were more than grateful for the vibe created by the new festival. Artists like The Boom Booms walked the promenade and the crew from The Joy Formidable and Grafitti 6 were so relaxed they helped during set up!
From the team at Wet Ape and all the countless staff and volunteers who worked hours on hours to build and execute the festival, we have to thank all who attended for adding to the atmosphere and helping to make KELOHA a flat out success. We can hardly wait to see you all again in 2013!
See you next Summer!
