Monster Energy Center of Gravity Returns to Kelowna with Big Plans

Posted by admin on February 3, 2015

Mark your calendars, Wet Ape Productions is very proud to announce that Monster Energy Center of Gravity (MECOG) will be returning to Kelowna’s City Park July 24 – 26, 2015. The eighth year of the adrenaline-pumping sports and music festival will see a number of changes, predominantly the addition of a new partnership with Canada’s leading festival producers Union Events.

With offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto, Union Events have an extensive background in concert and festival production including properties such as Sonic Boom (Edmonton), X-Fest (Calgary), Chasing Summer (Calgary), Riot Fest (Toronto) and numerous others. Union Events is the perfect fit in the continued growth of Canada’s hottest beach festival.  Managing Partner Harvey Cohen is looking forward to the new partnership and the future development of the festival, "Union Events is incredibly excited to be working with Wet Ape to build on the previous successes of this great festival and to continue to bring amazing music and sports to the City of Kelowna".

Although Wet Ape’s Keloha Music & Arts Festival will not be returning in 2015 on its own weekend, components of the indie/alternative rock and arts festival will be integrated into MECOG providing audiences with an amazing festival experience that brings the top artists from all genres to Kelowna. Wet Ape and Union Events are excited for the opportunity to draw in broader audiences and to continue to expand on the festival’s ever-growing popularity.

Festival Director, Scott Emslie, is thrilled about the upcoming year; “We’ve put some key pieces in place that will be the foundation for one of the greatest festival experiences in Western Canada. Partnering up with a live entertainment powerhouse like Union Events is very exciting for us and there is a very bright future for the festival.”

Ticketing and lineup info will be released in early 2015. For more information on the festival and to view highlights from previous years visit www.centerofgravity.ca.
